Religion, Belief and Non-Belief at Work

According to the Office for National Statistics there are at least 170 different religions or beliefs being practised in the United Kingdom. This means that many UK workplaces are rich with people of different beliefs (or indeed non-belief), customs, and perspectives on life and death. It also means that successful organisations will ensure that their employees are able to express their religion, belief, non-belief without prejudice or discrimination. The duration of this course is 20 minutes and can be completed over multiple sessions. Upon completion of this course, you should be able to: • Explain how religious and belief discrimination law applies in the workplace • Describe the restrictions on employees when expressing their religion or belief • Explain how organisations are expected to meet the religious or belief needs of their employees • Explain the legal exceptions to religious or belief discrimination law
