Reasonable Adjustments

Discriminatory attitudes, inaccurate assumptions, and stereotypes, lead to qualified and capable people with disabilities being denied job opportunities available to others who are fully abled. Workplace discrimination against disabled people is a problem. Fortunately, it is a problem that the law is designed to address vigorously – with substantial penalties for those who fall short in making reasonable adjustments. The duration of this course is 20 minutes and can be completed over multiple sessions. Upon completion of this course you should be able to: • State what the term ‘reasonable adjustment’ means • Describe the different types of reasonable adjustment employers may be required to make • Explain the factors employers should consider when determining whether an adjustment is ‘reasonable’
